Hampton Brown wanted an online lesson planner to accompany their Avenues series Avenues consisted of elementary school textbooks and interactive online investigations.
The main focus of the lesson planner was the portion concerning educational standards. Lesson plans and curriculum standards were tied together and tracked via a calendar. Teachers could create lesson plans, track standards covered and even submit reports to school principals or superintendents.
Although all this planning seems difficult, the user experience was structured to make it easier for the less tech-savy teachers to not be intimidated.
This project was done collaboratively with Six Red Marbles. It won a MITX award (Massachusetts Innovation and Technology Exchange) in the education category in 2004.
